Peggy J. Whitfield, 79-years-old, passed away Jan. 23, 2018, at her residence.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, from noon -2 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, Alabama. The funeral will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Akins Funeral Home with Brother David Motes officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Peggy was born Jan. 9, 1939, in Tennessee to R.T. and Lizzie Mae Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Whitfield; her parents; and five siblings.
Peggy is survived by her son, Steve Whitfield; her daughter, Pam Whitfield Akins; her two sisters, Sue Nelson, and Myrtle Grace; her grandchildren, Casey Akins Fuller (Eric), Amy Akins (Phillip Hamilton), Skyla Whitfield, and Serena Whitfield; and her great-grandchildren, Caylin, Emma Cait, Kyndel , Mason, and Landyn.
