Beverly Dupree Young (formerly Beverly Dupree Willis) passed away Saturday Jan 20th with her daughter Leslie by her side after a long hard battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Beverly was loved and respected by all who knew her especially her two children Leslie and Bobby Willis. She grew up in the 5 points district attending East Clinton Elementary, Huntsville Junior High and is a 1972 Graduate of Huntsville High School. While in high school she worked under the staff of Rev. Brother Bert Goodwin at Camp Sumatanga in many different areas but the most she loved was the years she spent cooking good country food in the Camp Kitchen and were some of the best years of memories made with friends and being in “God’s Country.” She was active at Holmes Street United Methodist church from a very young age until just a year before she passed away. She received her associates degree in Medical Records Technology from Calhoun Community College in June 1974. She worked many years in medical billing and quit to open up an in home Daycare so that she could be with her Son Bobby who is Special Needs and attend to his medical care. She re-entered the workforce in the early 1990’s to continue on working as an Office Manager for several local doctor’s offices. She was a member of the local Huntsville TWIGGS which was a local group started by other mothers  who children were patients at Children’s Hospital of Alabama, volunteered and worked with the local Children’s Hospital Telethons that were held here in Huntsville to support what is now the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. She volunteered her time at her home Church of Holmes Street United Methodist Church in downtown Huntsville in many areas especially activities that involved her children but never wanted the recognition, loved making crafts such as painting ceramics and homemade hand woven baskets which helped with the Parkinson’s Disease. Beverly was also co-creator of the Madison Mighty Explorers in Madison Alabama. Her greatest joys was her two children Leslie & Bobby.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Lynn (Ronnie) Dupree, parents Raymond (Edward) & Marjorie (Nell) Dupree, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncle and many other family memories who were called home before. She is survived by her two children Leslie & Bobby Willis, Brother Chris Dupree (Wife Deborah) of Pike Road Alabama and Sister Marie Burns (Husband David) of Huntsville Alabama, nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her but no more then her two beloved kids Leslie & Bobby.

Celebration of Life Service will be held this Saturday January 27th in the Great Room of Holmes Street United Methodist Church which is located at 501 Holmes Ave with visitation from 11am-1pm with the Service to follow afterwards. There will be a time of the service where family & friends who would like to share memories, stories or just how Beverly touched your life will be welcome to do so.
