Marguerite L Jones Hill, 94, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. Born in Gadsden, she lived most of her life in Birmingham. After skipping two grades, she graduated at age 16 as Valedictorian of Hueytown High School. She married at 18 and went to work. Her husband was drafted during WWII. She put herself through college at the University of Alabama, and became the first woman to graduate from the Birmingham School of Law (which later became the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University). She continued her education, earning MA degrees in Accounting and Business Administration, but her love was teaching. She taught German, Government and Economics for over 35 years at Shades Valley High School. Following her career, she retired to Guntersville, where she was a master gardener. She enjoyed boating, her grandchildren, was an avid reader and cook, and lifelong learner.

Survivors include daughters, Julie Meehan (Jim) and Audrey Parker (Keith); and grandchildren, Will, Harrison, Michael, Julie and Sean.
