Elizabeth “Liz” Cora Collins-Glenn – Obituary

Elizabeth “Liz” Cora Collins-Glenn, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Jan. 15, 2018. She was born on Aug. 20, 1926 to parents, Dewey Collins and Annie Roan Collins. Liz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister; always putting her family first. She enjoyed spending time in her rose garden and shopping for antiques. Liz was a very kind Christian woman that would never say a harmful word to anyone. Her family admired her strength and patience. Liz’s cooking was enjoyed by all who had the privilege of sitting at her table. She enjoyed fashion, which led her to her career in sales at Parisian and Belk.

Much love and gratitude goes out to Linda Hill for the loving care she gave our mother.

Liz is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thurman Arthur Glenn; and siblings, Fayteen McGough and Lillian Collins.

Liz is survived by her daughters, Virginia Monk ( Dennis) and Phyllis White (Tommy); grandchildren, Bryan White, Kim White, Kelley Monk Leopard, and Derek Monk; great-grandchildren, Chandler Leopard, Kellen Leopard, Elizabeth Monk, Scott Monk, and Alexis White.

Pallbearers will be Bryan White, Derek Monk, Scott Monk, Dennis Monk, Kurt Leopard, and Chandler Leopard.

Musical tribute will be performed by great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Bailey Monk, violinist.

A Celebration of Life for Liz will be on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery
