James “Jim” White, Jr. – Obituary

James “Jim” White, Jr., age 67 passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2018. Jim was born March 28, 1950 in Fairfield, Alabama to James and Lillian Evelyn White. He was a graduate of Butler High School in Huntsville, Alabama. Jim served proudly in the United States Air Force REGAF from 1971 to 1975. Jim served with the AFT 87II, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal Bronze Star, and the AFCMG AFM Medal of Good Conduct. Jim reached the rank of Sergeant and was a Telecommunications Systems Control Specialist before receiving an Honorable Discharge. Jim loved talking about his time served in Spain. Jim also loved music and was an avid guitar player. He was a proud member of the local Huntsville band Doc Murphy and Fever. Jim was preceded in death by his father James White, Sr., and his stepfather and mother Samuel Brady and Lillian Evelyn (nee Morris) Noakes. He is survived by his three sons James Scott (Susan) White of Hazel Green, Alabama, Christopher Ray (Katie) White of Huntsville, Alabama, and Samuel Paul Stanton (Diana) White of Harvest, Alabama. Jim also leaves behind his grandchildren, MacKenzie, Brianna, Ella, Eliza, Zoie and Matthew. Jim had a special love for his dog Angel, and she will continue to be loved by family. Jim requested cremation and no services will be held. The family would like to thank the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs, Diversicare of Big Springs, and especially Michael Fallon, RN and Case Manager of Amedisys Hospice Care. All memorial donations should be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or A New Leash on Life animal rescue. In honor of Jim, “All that is gold does not glitter. Not all those who wander are lost.
