Funeral service for Reba Goodner Elders, 96, will be Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Leon Holt officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 12, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elders died on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Whitesburg Gardens Health Care Center. She was born May 28, 1921, in Morgan County to William Andrew Goodner and Ruth Agnes Early Goodner. She loved to cook and was always willing to help others. She never had children of her own, but helped raise all the nieces and nephews. During the last years of her life, she lived at the Whitesburg Garden Nursing Home. Reba was the oldest of nine children: four sisters: Frances, Helen, Juanita and Nina – four brothers: William, Bill, Carl and Stanley, all of whom preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her husband: Clifford Elders and her parents. She was loved by all, especially her niece, Barbara East, who was her caregiver and companion. “Rest In Peace, Aunt Reba”.
