John Wayne “Boo Boo” Redden, 70, died Monday, January 8, 2018, at North MS Medical Center Hospice. He was born in Clarksdale on May 11, 1947, to Evans and Susie Redden. He started working at the age of 5 on the family farm and for 29 years he worked at Super Sagless. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing the yard and just being outside. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Valley Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Herndon officiating. Burial will follow in Ingomar Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth Redden of Shannon; three children, Angela Kent (Gerald) of Tupelo, Beverly Patterson (Phil) of Saltillo and Doug Redden of Shannon; four brothers, Lee Redden (Elaine) of North Carolina, Jerry Redden (Sara) of Sherman, Bill Redden (Barbara) of Baldwyn and Roger Redden (Edith) of Tupelo; two sisters, Margie Hamblin (Charles) of Baldwyn and Debbie Tarwaters (Charles) of Chesterville; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dell Keith, Jerry Redden, Roger Redden, James Redden, Bill Redden and Jerry Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Lee Redden and Chuck Wiggins.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 Tuesday at the funeral home and 10 AM until service time Wednesday at the church
