Oliver Windal Puckett – Obituary

Oliver Windal Puckett, 85, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, AL. He was born October 1, 1932 in Tishomingo County, MS. He was retired from Mueller Brass after twenty-five years and was a security guard at Tiffin Motor Homes for seventeen years. He was a member and deacon of The Church of God, Red Bay, AL.

Services will be Tuesday, January 9, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. James Horn and Bro. Stephen Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery, Russellville, AL.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years – Jearldean Puckett, Red Bay, AL; two children – Brenda Lewey and husband, Norris Lewey and Gary Puckett and wife, Susan Puckett, all of Red Bay, AL; four grandchildren – Candi Cantrell and husband, Stephen Cantrell, Brandon Lewey and wife, Chrissy Lewey, Taylor Hendrix and husband, Eric Hendrix and Tarin Puckett; five great-grandchildren; one brother – Flavis Puckett and two sisters – Gladys Bennett and Oniece Hutcheson.

He was preceded in death by his parents – George and Lottie Puckett and two brothers – Edsel Puckett and Elbert Puckett.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Lewey, Tarin Puckett, Aaron Lewey, Andrew Lewey, Aiden Lewey and Josiah Cantrell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
