Ms. Shirley Mary Newton, age 69 of Decatur, AL passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Wesley Acres Facility. Ms. Newton was born on July 8, 1948 in Elkmont, AL to Augusta “Gus” and Nancy Lewis Amerson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Freeman and brothers, Samuel Amerson, Raymond Amerson and LeeRoy Amerson.
Ms. Newton is survived by her children, Michelle Colston, Crystal Robertson and Wayne Martin; sisters, Margaret Tucker, Augusta Webster, Nancy Louella Ray and Emma Tucker; brother, James Wesley Amerson; six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Ms. Newton was a member of Patillo Street Church of God.
