Larry Leon Owens, age 81, of Florence, passed away Jan. 5, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held today, Jan. 7, 2018, at noon at Spry-Williams Funeral Home.
Larry was an enthusiast of military history, spending countless hours metal detecting in search of memorabilia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marcella Owens; sisters, Beverly Wingard, Betty Knorr, and Pauline Atterbury; and grandson-in-law, Tyler Zahnd.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Hazel Smith Owens; children, Tracy Blocker (Rick) and Karen McNatt (Bryan); grandchildren, Casey Zahnd, Bradley Conley (Kristen), Janna Hamm (Tyler), Matt McNatt (Alli), and Jamie Blocker; great-grandchildren, Mary Zahnd, Corbin Hamm, Maverick Hamm and Jaxon McNatt; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Larry was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
