Funeral service for Rose Marie DeKoker, age 86, of Decatur, will be announced by Shelton Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeKoker , who died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in Decatur, was born January 16, 1931 , in St. Louis MO, to Lemuel David Root and Mary Eliza Lowery Root. She was preceded in death by her husband Wentle DeKoker, one stepson Benny DeKoker, and one grandson Timmy DeKoker.
She is survived by, four sons, Dennis DeKoker (Marjorie) of Alva, FL, Rick DeKoker (Daphana) of Decatur, Mark DeKoker of Morocco, IN, and Philip DeKoker (Beth) of Lansing, IL; one stepson, Roger DeKoker (Sally) of Bedford, IN; two stepdaughters, Judy McGarvin of Mesa, AZ and Alice Brown (Butch) of Hope, IN; one sister, Marian Hauk of St Charles, MO; eighteen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley or The Gideons International.
