Italy Trip Scheduled to Celebrate Florence Bicentennial

FLORENCE-The Shoals Chamber of Commerce, the University of North Alabama and the City of Florence have partnered together to offer a unique opportunity to celebrate Florence’s upcoming bicentennial celebration. The Shoals Chamber is now accepting registration to join a group tour to Italy scheduled for August 5-12, 2018. The trip includes stops in Rome, Venice and Sister City Florence, Italy. While in Florence, the group will visit with City officials and build upon the existing bond between the sister cities.

The trip includes a Venetian adventure in St. Mark’s Square; a “foodie” tour through the streets of Bologna; an expert-led walking tour of Florence; a visit to the Academy Gallery to view Michelangelo’s David; and exploration of Classical Rome and the famed Colosseum.

The deadline for trip deposits is February 6. The full itinerary for this exciting trip can be found on the Shoals Chamber home page.

Limited slots remain available. Current attendees include City of Florence Mayor Steve Holt, UNA President Ken Kitts, and Shoals Chamber Chair Jan Ingle.
