Rick Hall, Founder of FAME Studios

MUSCLE SHOALS – Seismic shifts. Just when we feel comfortable with the world we define for ourselves, well… something happens. Rick Hall, legendary studio owner and music producer was somebody one would see at lunch, or a AMHOF event, or showing up at a Muscle Shoals to Music Row show…

And now, Rick’s gone.

This neighbor of ours, a man accessible to the multitudes, this multi -Grammy winner, member of the Rock ‘n Roll hall of Fame, member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, among many other honors, has possibly for the last time been covered by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Here is an excerpt… “Hall’s Grammy-winning production touched nearly every genre of popular music from country to R&B, and his Fame Studio and publishing company were a breeding ground for future legends in the worlds of songwriting and session work, as well as a recording home to some of the greatest musicians and recording artists of all time, including Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Wilson Pickett and many more. To date, the studio and its publishing company have been responsible for an estimated 350 million record sales, with songs by everyone from the Beatles to GeorgeStrait.”
