John C. Patterson, that watchman on the wall, was finally relieved of his earthly call on the 30th of December, 2017. He was born in Wynne, Arkansas, raised in Sheffield, Alabama, and a veteran of the Korean War. He raised his family in New Orleans and returned to Sheffield in 1988.

A warrior from his youth to his departure, he stood his ground completing his race at Calvary Fellowship going ahead of his sons, John C, Mark A, and Matthew J Patterson; daughters in the Lord, Amelia, Winnie, and Shanda; grandchildren, Jessica, Destini, Max, Mac, Isabella, and Marilyn; and great-grandchild, Marley. He leaves them knowing that he has only gone ahead. Saddened, we know it is only a short time before we all are together again with those that have gone before: mother, Jessica B. Patterson; wife, Margret L. Patterson; and sister, Peggy J. Riley. Best of all with Jesus what a reunion that will be.

Services will be held at Calvary Fellowship in Florence, Alabama at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018.
