Henry “Hank” Vernon Smith, Jr. of Ethridge passed away on December 25, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born in Anchorage, Alaska on July 19, 1955 and was 62 years old.
He served for the Huntsville Fire Department for 38 ½ years where he was Captain, a member of the Poplar Hollow Black Powder Association, and an active member of the Mt. Moriah Church.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 30th from 10:00am until 1:00am with a funeral service following at 1:00pm at Mt. Moriah Church
Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Vernon and Alice Roslynn Brown Smith, Sr. and brother, George H. Smith.
He is survived by his,
Wife, Celia Smith of Ethridge
Brothers, Kenneth S. (Marilyn) Melton of GA and Gerald A. (Mollie) Melton of VA.
Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Henry “Hank” Vernon Smith, Jr.
