Madaline “Maggie” Hood Sutton, 87 of Decatur passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in her home, surrounded by her family. A visitation at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home in Decatur, AL will be held on Thursday, December 28 from 5 – 7 p.m. A funeral service on Friday, December 29 at 11 a.m. will be held at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home followed by graveside memorial at 1:30 p.m. at the Duck River Baptist Church Cemetery in Walter community, Cullman County. Maggie loved square dancing, traveling the United States, taking her grandchildren camping, and watching Alabama football. She was an avid quilter and loved old western movies. Maggie’s passing was preceded by the death of her loving husband, Charles Ray Sutton. Maggie is survived by her daughter, Regina Sutton Burnham of Decatur, and her grandchildren, Raina Brown of Hartselle and Travis Burnham of New York City and great-grandchildren, Braeden Brown and Paxton Brown and her sister, Doris Tidwell of Mississippi. Special thanks to all those who cared and loved Maggie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
