LAWRENCEBURG-The Lawrenceburg Police Department released a statement concerning s shooting that resulted in a death on Tuesday, December 5:
“On 12/05/17 at 8:07pm Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to 1015 Smith Ave in reference to a shooting.
Upon Officers arrival, a female was discovered near the residence with a visible gunshot wound. The Victim was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System where she succumbed to the injuries a short time later.
Detectives developed a suspect and warrants were obtained against Kyle Daniel Welcher (18) of Lawrenceburg for Reckless Homicide. Welcher is being held at the Lawrence County Jail without Bond. Welcher is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Feberuary 1st, 2018.
The Victim’s Identity is not being released at this time. The Victim is a 16 year old Lawrenceburg resident.”
