William (Dick) Reginald Cantrell, age 92, of Florence, formally of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Family visitation and services were held privately at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Sarah Lou Cantrell and William Berry Cantrell; three sons: William (Bill) Richard Cantrell, Elvis Deen Cantrell, and Jerry Lou Cantrell; three brothers, two sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jo Cantrell; two daughters: Anita Miller (Don) and Lanetta Koonce; two sisters: Montree Neal and Betty Lessing; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved dog, Squeaky.
He served faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II.
