Madeline L. Meek – Obituary

Madeline L. Meek was born January 6, 1923 in Hardin County, TN, the daughter of the late William and Lillian Hollingsworth Hughes. She was retired and had worked for Garan in Adamsville as a seamstress. She was united in marriage to Hillard Meek in February of 1944. Mr. Meek preceded her in death on April 12, 2004. She was a member of the Love and Truth Church in Savannah. Mrs. Meek seemed to always be outside working in her yard and garden. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Meek departed this life on December 3, 2017 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 10 Months, 27 Days.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Jane Meek Harris of Adamsville, TN; daughter-in-law, Joyce Meek; four grandchildren: Jane Harris LaDue and husband Danny, Valerie Meek Barber and husband E.C., Candice Meek Johnston and husband Jeremy, Mary Katherine Meek Searcy and husband Andrew; ten great grandchildren: Ethan Johnston, Damon LaDue, Maya Johnston, Case Barber, Cade LaDue, Colt Barber, Brodie LaDue, Austin LaDue, Asa Searcy and Mary Ellys Day Searcy; a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Meek was preceded in death by a son, Philip Jay Meek; two brothers, Herman Hughes, Carthel Hughes; and three infant brothers.
