Katherine Bond Carter – Obituary

Katherine Bond Carter, 87 years old of Hatton, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at her residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, from noon to 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Josh Horton officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.

Katherine was retired from Gobble-Fite as a secretary and was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. She was unable to attend church the last few years, but was provided a recorded CD of the church services. Katherine listened to gospel music on TV and read her Bible and devotional daily. She loved fishing, baking, flower arranging, gardening, bird watching, she loved dogs, other animals and nature.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Bond and Effie Stewart Bond and one brother, Hillard Bond.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth Bond Monroe, of Huntsville; and one brother, Johnny L Bond and his wife, Sue, of Hatton; one sister-in-law, Nadine Bond; five nephews, Keith Bond (Marabara), Kerry Bond, Patrick Monroe (Janet), Randall Monroe and Michael Bond; three nieces, Alesa Henley (Danny), Bonnie Bond Gatlin and Sandra Wallace (Dwight); several great and great-great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Keith Bond, Patrick Monroe, Randall Monroe, Michael Bond, Dakota Eskridge and Charles Albercrombie. Honorary pallbearers will be Burrell Bradford, Steve Moore and Hollis Stewart.
