Oakerlene Cardin Corpier – Obituary

Oakerlene Cardin Corpier of Pulaski, Tn passed away on December 1, 2017 at NHC in Pulaski. She was born on May 22nd, 1928 in Bunker Hill, Tn and was 89 years old.
She was an outstanding basketball player at Giles County High and was recognized as an All-State Forward and Guard. Throughout her working years she was employed at Genesco as the Personnel Secretary for 40 years until the plant closed, then at Stanley Tools, and finally concluded her career at Pulaski Elementary as the Bookkeeper and Secretary for 25+ years where she retired.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, December 5 at 11:00am in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Stevenson of First United Methodist Church of Pulaski, TN and Bro. Tony Boyles of Wooley Springs Baptist Church in Toney, AL officiating.
Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by:
Husband – Harry L. Corpier
Parents – P.D. and Flossie Cardin
Four Sister-in-laws
Six Brother-in-laws
She is survived by her,
Daughter, Debbie Corpier Benson (Gene) of Ardmore, TN
Sister, Bettye Cardin Ingram of Pulaski, TN
Grandson, Drew Stockman (Rachel) of Toney, AL
Grandson, Heath Stockman and fiancé, Hannah Bickel of Ardmore, TN
Great-Grandson, Bryson Stockman of Toney, AL
Sister-in-law, Ruth Whitt Hartman (Don) of Ardmore, AL
Several Nieces, Nephews, and Great Nieces and Nephews also survive.
