Kathleen Robinson Hall, age 82, died November 28th. She was born Nov. 30, 1934, in Double Springs, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson B. Robinson; her mother, Eunice S. Robinson; her husband, James F. Hall Jr.; her daughter, Stephanie A. Hall; and her brother, Jimmy B. Robinson (wife, Becky).
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Smith, and her son, David N. Hall and his wife, Maggie R. Hall. Kathleen has five grandchildren, Wesley D. Smith and his wife, Staci Smith, Katie Smith, Robin Smith, Harrison Hall, and John David Hall. She also has two great-grandchildren, Easton Smith and Isla James Smith.
Kathleen lived the early years of her life in Double Springs, Alabama. Her family moved to Tuscumbia where she attended grammar school through high school. She graduated from Deshler High School in 1954. From an early age she developed a love of music, and she cultivated her talent in singing.
She attended Florence State where she met and fell in love with James F. Hall Jr. It was their love of music that brought them together. They married Sept. 6, 1958. Kathleen continued to sing in the church choir and at various events. In addition to serving God with her voice, she taught Sunday school at North Wood United Methodist and Saint James United Methodist. She worked at Rogers Department Store and was a substitute teacher at both Coffee and Bradshaw high schools. Kathleen took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She loved her husband faithfully and enjoyed his cooking.
Kathleen loved to read the Bible, and she taught others this same devotion. She lived out the scripture found in Proverbs 31:26-30 “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue… Her children rise and call her blessed… Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.”
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home today from 1-2 p.m. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint James United Methodist Church (Florence, Alabama).
