Charles “Charlie” B. Gruber – Obituary

Charles “Charlie” B. Gruber, 80, of Florence died Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Glenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2017, 10 AM to 12 PM at Elkins Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 12 PM in the chapel with Rev. Kenton L. Troyer officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Zip City.

Mr. Gruber served in the US Army Signal Corps.  He was a member of the Aluminum Workers Union and retired from Reynolds.

Mr. Gruber was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Allen Gruber; parents, Conrad and Naomi Gruber; sisters, Frances Yocum, Marie Myrick, and Juanita Cabler; brothers, Bernie Gruber, Frank Joe “Doc” Gruber, Marvin Gruber, Paul Gruber, Bill Gruber, Randy Gruber, and Leander Gruber.

Mr. Gruber is survived by his loving wife, Alice Gruber; son, Rodney Gruber (Lisa); granddaughters, Hailey and Alyssa Gruber; brothers, Michael Guber (Jean), and Adrian Gruber (Connie); sisters, Betty Pettus, Barbara Higginbotham (Tommy), Carolyn Bracey, Martha Jo Hamner (Mark), and Nina Connolly (Bill); sisters-in-law, Jackie Gruber and Martha Cabler.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lawson, Bruce Lawson, Keith Rhodes, Kevin Watkins, Marvin Gruber, and Butch Smith.
