Rosalind Bernice Gill Blocher Casey – Obituary

Former Muncie, Indiana resident, Rosalind Bernice Gill Blocher Casey, 94, passed away unexpectedly at Folsom Center in Cullman, Alabama. She was born in Muncie, Indiana, June 10, 1923 the daughter of the late Beatrice and Ralph Gill.

She attended Lincoln, Wilson schools and graduated from Munice Central in 1941. In 1942 she married Emmett S. Blocher, they had two children, Carol Ann and Emmett, Jr. The family moved to Cullman in 1961, where Emmett was affiliated with Cullman Products, he passed away July 15, 1980. Rosalind has been active in Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church. She also worked several years at the State House in Montgomery, in the Treasury Department.

Surviving are her son Emmett, Jr., wife Marcia of Cullman, and son-in-law Jerry Delk of Paris, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Natalie Blocher of Cullman, Corey Delk Ricardi (Doug) of Largo, Florida, and Cobey Delk of Nashville, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Meredith and Marshall Ricardi, Desmond and Ava Cox, Riley Delk, her foreign exchange student (son) from 1966 from Italy and now Cullman, Morris Maurizi; her sister, Bonnie Gill-Green and sister-in-law, Pearl Gill of Muncie, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Elmridge Funeral Home in Munice, Indiana with burial in Elmridge Cemetery.
