Dr. Hubert Merrill Porter, 81, of Priceville, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. His graveside service will be held Friday, December 1, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Roselawn Funeral Home is directing.
He was born August 31, 1936. He was a pilot, and was a Masonic Shriner. He holds a BS degree in Engineering from Mississippi State, an MSc from UAH, a PhD from Nova University and a JD Law degree from Birmingham School of Law. He was preceded in death by his son, Hal Mark Porter; and his parents, John Franklin Porter and Gladys Murphy Porter.
He is survived by his sons, Hugh M. Porter, Hunter M. Porter (Christi) and Heath M. Porter; grandchildren, Stratton, Elizabeth, Savanna and Grant Porter; brothers, Gerald Wayne Porter and John Garry Porter.
He was employed by NASA and the Army Corps of Engineers at Redstone Arsenal, and then began his law practice.
