Danny Oneal Owen – Obituary

Danny Oneal Owen, 60, died Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at the Red Bay Hospital.  He was born December 4, 1956, to Robert Oneal and Eva Fae Owen who preceded him in death.  Danny retired in 2015 from the Mississippi State University Extension service.  He served as the County Coordinating Agent for the Extension service in Iuka.  He was a member of the Golden Chapel United Methodist church. He was active with many organizations including Tishomingo County Farm Bureau where he served as board vice-president, president of the Mississippi Master Gardeners, active in the Tishomingo County Master Gardeners and board member with the county fair.  Former organizations he was involved in include the  Rotary Club of Iuka, Tishomingo County Cattlemen’s Association, Tishomingo County Forestry Association, Tishomingo County 4-H and The Mississippi County Agents Association.

Services will be Thursday, November 23, 1 p.m. at Golden Chapel United Methodist Church with Bro. Nathan Hodum officiating.  Burial will be in Glenfield Memorial Gardens, New Albany, MS.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife-Betty Owen; his children-Neelie Owen and Nathan Owen; one brother-Joe Owen (Bonnie); niece and nephew-Craig Owen (Megan) and Kathryn Owen.

Pallbearers will be Paul Whitlock, Casey Roberts, Jarrett Roberts, Mark Gilliland, Charlie Paden and Craig Owen.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 22, 5-8 p.m. at Golden Chapel United Methodist Church.
