Funeral service for Mrs. Verna Lee Sawyers, age 94, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Massey officiating. Burial will follow next to her husband, Roy Duverne Sawyers, in Riverview Memorial Garden.
Survivors include her son, Sam Gary Sawyers; grandchildren, Christopher Roy Sawyers (Wendi) and Amanda Sawyers both of Petersburg; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Nathan, and Emmie Sawyers and Jeffrey and Alexis Posey; brother, James Clyde Stewart of Fayetteville; sisters, Virginia Arnold of Fayetteville and Genetta O’Neil of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Green and Stella Patrick Stewart, and her brother Carl Stewart.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Sawyers.
