Funeral service for Howard Milton Barnette, 77, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Friday, November 24th, 2017 at The Refuge Church, located at the intersection and corner of 157 and 278 E in Cullman, Alabama, Pastors Wayne Barnette, Zachary Speegle, G.J. Chandler, Eddie Chandler officiating with interment in Berlin Cemetery.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Barnette passed away November 20th, 2017. He was born October 18, 1940 to John James & Clara Lois Gerstman Barnette.
Howard was a very loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was employed at Mutual Savings Life Insurance, Bendix-Westinghouse, and owner of Barnette’s Building Supply. He is a member of The Bread of Life Church of God. He served as a Church of God treasurer over forty-four years. He was a faithful Christian man who served the Lord for 55 years. He loved his family and everyone he came in contact with.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Edward & Bertha Chandler; six brothers, seven sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eloise Chandler Barnette; son, Wayne (Brenda) Barnette; daughters, Rena (Matt) Howell, Bridgett (Zachary) Speegle; brothers, James (Jackie) Barnette, Bill (I.V.) Barnette, Cecil (Jean) Dyer, Olen Barnette, L.T. Barnette; sisters, Ann (Terry) Smith, Faye Montgomery, Myra Jean Drake, Joyce Brown, Betty Nix; Grandchildren, Candase (Justin) Wilkins, Dustin (Tiffany) Barnette, Matthew (B.J.) Howell, Zachary (Tiffany) Howell, Blake (Taylor) Howell, Kaitlyn Speegle, Landon Speegle, Alexis Speegle, Aleczander Speegle; great-grandchildren, Emmalyn & Finlee Wilkins, Jorryn, Tylyn, Carolynn Barnette, Ashlyn Aldridge, Alexa Buckelew, Ever Jane & Georgiabelle Howell, Rutledge Howell; a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening at The Refuge Church from 6 until 8 and again on Friday at the church from 12-2 p.m.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
