Jimmy Wayne Cottrell, 70, of the Grassy Community died Saturday, November 18, 2017, at his residence.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017, from 6-8 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 22, 2017, 2 PM at Elkins East Chapel, with Bro. Danny Pettus officiating. Burial will be at Rogersville Funeral Home Cemetery
Mr. Cottrell was the owner and operator of Cottrell’s Body Shop in the Clements High area in Limestone County from 1971-1981, where at that time he relocated the business to Elgin Cross Roads in Lauderdale County where he grew his Body Shop to include Cottrell’s Towing and Recovery from one small wrecker to currently a dozen. Jimmy proudly served his community for 46 years. On behalf of Jimmy and his family we would like to say Thank You for all your support over the years to make his business the success it is.
Jimmy was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Lexington, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Cottrell; daughters, Laura Jones (Ricky) and Lisa Collier (Robert); son, Johnny Cottrell; sisters, Mary Howard (Anthony) and Pam Dacus (Bruce); brother, Tommy Cottrell (Kim); 3 grandchildren, Blair Gray, Taylor Jones, and Jay Wallace; 4 great-grandchildren, Brenton Hines, Easton Gray, Jayston Gray, and Aria Jones.
Pallbearers will be Robert Collier, Ricky Jones, Taylor Jones, Jay Wallace, and Justin Gray. Honorary pallbearer will be Brenton Hines.
