Connie Jo Pounds Thompson passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at her residence at the age of 69.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 20 at Collins-Burke Funeral Home and a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 1:00 pm at Walker Memory Gardens.
Connie had multiple jobs, from being a telephone operator to working at the Oakman Post Office with several in between. She was a nurturing person who loved meeting people and making new friends wherever she went. She was an active member of Midway Church of Christ. Connie was a wonderful mother, wife and friend. She will be missed more than our hearts can stand.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Pounds; father, Clarence Pounds; sister, Juelette Carr; and sister, Irene Phillips.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Thompson of Jasper; and son, Jeremy (J.P.) Thompson of Davenport, FL.
Pallbearers for the service were Keith Gann, Nathan Gann, Ed Griffith, Randall Nunnelley, Raymond Steadman and Mike Wolfe.
