Fred Delona Butler – Obituary

Fred Delona Butler, age 82, passed away Nov. 15, 2017. Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, from noon until 2 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain David Rushlow officiating. Entombment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Fred was a retired maintenance supervisor with the Alabama Department of Transportation. He was an avid Alabama fan and loved fishing.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Butler; parents, Jessie and Helen Butler; and siblings, Verta Holden, J. C. Butler, Cecil Butler, and Jackie Butler.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Butler; children, Bethany Kitch (Jack), Freddie Butler (Laura), Candy Horton (Jeff), Scotty Petty (Sayaird), and Chris Petty (Regena); siblings, Ann Lovett, Louise Butler, James Butler, Earl Butler, Bobby Butler, Billy Butler, and Teddy Butler; grandchildren, Jackson Kitch, Dustin Kitch, Ben Butler, Zach Horton, Rachel Fournier, Courtney Petty, Allie McCurry, Lauren Petty, Morgan Jackson, and Stella Tidwell; and great-grandchildren, Maverick, Kenzleigh, Emily, Austin, and Ashlyn.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family meant the world to him, and he will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of the Shoals and to his doctors in Franklin, Tennessee for their loving care.
