Lillie Mae Britnell Davis – Obituary

Lillie Mae Britnell Davis, 84, Russellville died September 17, 2012 at Helen Keller Hospital of natural causes.

She lived all her life in the communities of Tharptown and Waco, where she was a founding member of the Waco Church of Christ.

The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 12:00 in the chapel. Officiating at the service will be Bro. Larry Prince and Bro. Jack Frederick. The song leader will be Charles Frederick. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Davis; brother, Elmer Britnell and wife, Ruby; sister, Annie Patton; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Powell Davis.

She is survived by her son, Gary B. Davis; daughters, Jennie Prince and husband, Larry, Marqueta Prince and husband, Ronald, Teresa Pounders and husband, Steve; sons of the heart, Charles Frederick, Jack Frederick; grandchildren, Michael Davis, Phillip Prince and wife, Mikki, Hunter Prince, Lynn Ponder and husband, Doug, Erin Lindsey and husband, Ken, Tanner Prince, Brad Pounders and wife, Angie, Brian Pounders, Brittany Blackburn and husband, Stewart. Also surviving is her great-grandchildren, Sadie Slaughter, Morgan Arthur, Isaac Prince, Amelia Prince, Shelby Ponder, Kaci Ponder, Reagan Lindsey, Davis Lindsey, Lily Mae Blackburn, Leah Blackburn, Sydney Vickery, Haley Vickery, Ellie Pounders; great-great-grandchildren, Tristan Arthur, Rhyder Arthur; brothers, Eugene Britnell and wife, Madalene, Charlie Britnell and wife, Sue; and several nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be the grandsons and grandsons-in-laws.

Mother will be missed but she leaves her influence on this earth through her children, family, friends, and the many people she helped throughout her life. She is remembered for her dedication to her family and God. She spent most of her life sewing dresses, gardening and spoiling her grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Helen Keller 3rd floor PCU and to the Country Cottage for their love and care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 104 S. Poplar Street, Florence, AL 35630. Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
