A beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Elizabeth Ann McLemore, 71, resident of the Ripley Community, passed away suddenly of natural causes Monday morning November 13, 2017 in Memphis.
Funeral Services honoring the well lived life of Ann will be at 1 PM Thursday November 16 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with her pastor, Bro. Jason Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Tippah Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Ripley.
Born September 17, 1946 in Hohenwald, TN, Ann was the daughter of the late Otis and Alice Runyons Murphy. She was a graduate of Hohenwald High School and received her Nursing Degree from Northeast Junior College. Ann was married on April 10, 1963 to Blanche, TN native, Jerry Wayne McLemore, a retired medical technologist, who survives.
A resident of Tippah County since 1966, Ann was a dedicated nurse for over 32 years for the Tippah County Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital-New Albany before her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Ripley First United Methodist Church , a devoted wife who balanced work and family with much love and skill.
Ann’s passion in life was her family , her friends and she always managed to play a round or two of golf. She will be remembered as having a “servant’s heart” and placed the needs of so many others before herself. Anns most lasting influence is the legacy of friendship and love that she offered freely to so many who knew her on a regular basis, whether as a friend or colleague.
Visitation will continue for Ann today until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, those left to cherish her memory include her children, Deena Coombs (Jeff) of Blue Mountain, Vince McLemore of Ripley and Wayne McLemore (Vicky) of Caledonia, two brothers, Fred Murphy (Ronda) of Mayfield, KY and Jim Murphy (Barbara) of Gallatin, TN and eleven wonderful grandchildren, Casey King (Matt), Kelly Wicks (Kayleb), Peyton, Mason, Marion and Nathan McLemore, Lexi, Loren and Austin Elliott, Morgan Whitaker and Baleigh Coker.
