Ruby L. Smith departed this life on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 15 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on April 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Archie A. and Leller Morris Parson. On February 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ottie Theodore Smith, who preceded her in death on September 30, 2005.
Ruby had been a forklift operator for Continental Construction Company and after retirement she had worked for Adam’s Bait Shop. She was a member of Pickwick Church of Christ. She loved her church, spending time with her family, and in her flower garden.
She is survived by her children, Rickey T. Smith and his wife Susan, Randy O. (Bud) Smith and his wife Debbie, and Ruby Joyce Culwell, all of Counce, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jennifer Burks and husband Brandon, Justin Smith and wife Adie, and Brandon Smith and companion Heather Meadors; great grandchildren, Bentley Burks, Mary Susan Burks, Maggie Killingsworth, and Knox Smith; sisters, Alma Austin of Michie, Tennessee and Lola (Sue) Smith of Corinth, Mississippi.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Cartwright and brothers, Virgil Parson, Coy Parson, Howard Parson, and Ross Parson.
