Oscar Howell “Harold” James – Obituary

Mr. Oscar Howell “Harold” James, 82, passed from this life, early Friday November 10, 2017 at the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on April 22, 1935 to Albert and Ruby Anderson James who preceded him in death along with his infant sons, Steven and Jeffery James; brothers, Malery, Neal, Tommy, Billy, Malcolm and Randal James.

He worked as a Auto Body Repairman for 51 years, 30 of which was James Body Shop in Palmer, Tennessee.  He attended the Living Water Independent Church in Tracy City.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Knowlan James, Daughters, Lynn James, Palmer and Eileen (Clint) Shrum, Tracy City, grand-daughter, Hannah Shrum; sisters, Mary (Ed) O’Neal, Whitwell, Dian James, Teresa (Mike) Cordell of Palmer and sister-in-law, Ruby Nell James, Jasper; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Bro. Ralph Shrum and Bro. Clint Shrum officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer, Cemetery. Visitation: Friday 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
