            Breaking and Entering Vehicle Cases

The Florence Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is currently working a string of overnight/early morning Vehicle Burglaries.  These burglaries cover a large portion of the City of Florence and we believe that there will be several others within the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department Jurisdiction.  We have confirmed at least nine burglaries within the city limits and have charged the following individuals with (13 counts each) of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, (1 Count Each) Theft of Property 1st, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd.  All three are currently being held with $39,000.00 bond in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.

This is an active investigation and we expect several more burglaries to be reported throughout the day.  We are encouraging anyone who is a victim to contact their local law enforcement agency to report immediately.

1.) Do you expect the three to be charged with more burglaries? Yes, we have added those charges to the updated release.

2.) Where did majority of burglaries happen? Florence City Limits

3.) How long do you think they were doing this? It is unknown at this time.

4.) Are they a part of a theft ring? It appears so, but we have no evidence at this time that others are involved.
