FLORENCE- The administrator at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Brian Scheri released a statment concerning the incident that took place at Mitchell Hollingsworth earlier this month.

Statement from Brian Scheri, Administrator Mitchell-Hollingsworth:

“We appreciate the quick and thorough response of local authorities and District Attorney Chris Connolly.  We continue to work with them as they prosecute this matter.   To be clear, as Administrator of Mitchell-Hollingsworth for 14 years, this kind of incident has not happened before and we have a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate treatment of our residents.  Our staff immediately and appropriately responded to this situation.  The employee at issue was immediately suspended and has now been terminated from employment at Mitchell Hollingsworth. We have worked closely with the family and local law enforcement to ensure they have all the facts.  We follow stringent measures when hiring employees, including background checks.  This incident does not reflect the quality and genuine care provided by our employees.  We believe they do an outstanding job caring for our residents and looking out for their well-being.  We have also reached out to the state agency that monitors our industry and will continue to work closely with them, the family, and local authorities until this matter is concluded.”
