James “Jim” Walter Cook – Obituary

 James “Jim” Walter Cook, 60, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. Visitation will be today from noon-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 2 p.m. Dr. Robert Gamble will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Cook; paternal grandparents, Monroe and Jenny Cook; and maternal, Charlie and Ollie Sisk.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maria Cook; mother, Evelyn Sisk Cook; son, Alex Cook; daughter, Kelley Woods (Justin); grandchildren, Cohen Woods, Eli Woods, and Logan Woods; brothers, Mike Cook (Peggy) and Charles “Pat” Cook (Cindy); uncle, Tommy Sisk; nephews, Michael, Lee, and Ross; nieces, Stephanie Jones; and a host of loving cousins and other family members and friends all to which will dearly miss Jim.

Pallbearers will be Mike Cook, Pat Cook, Alex Cook, Michael Cook, Hunter Cook, Ross Cook, Brent Sisk, and Tommy Sisk.

Jim’s love for music and sports was only outmatched by the love for his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His caring nature and selflessness impacted countless lives, and he was a blessing to all that knew him. He is loved and will be missed dearly.
