Flood of Participation Request Prompts Deadline Extension for Athens North Pole Stroll

ATHENS-Athens North Pole Stroll Tree Sponsorship continues until November 17th.

With the recent holidays – including Columbus Day, Halloween and upcoming Veterans Day – the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association has been contact by numerous individuals, families, businesses and groups still seeking to be part of this magical event at Athens Big Spring Memorial Park in December.  So to give everyone a chance to be part of the fun, the deadline has been extended to Friday, November 17th.

Tree Sponsorship forms are available at the Athens-Limestone Visitors Center 100 North Beaty Street in Athens or on VisitAthensAL.com under the Things To Do tab on the North Pole Stroll Page then 2017 Athens North Pole Stroll.  They can be mailed or dropped off at the Athens-Limestone Visitors Center, please note that the office will be closed November 10 in recognition of Veterans Day and our veterans service and sacrifice.

About Athens North Pole Stroll:

Athens North Pole Stroll is a Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association project done in cooperation and support of the Athens Park and Recreation Department and Lowe’s of Athens.  Athens North Pole Stroll will be in the historic Beaty District’s Athens Big Spring Memorial Park between Beaty and East Streets from December 1st – 30th and open to free to the public to stroll, ooh, and ahh.

This third annual event will feature trees sponsored and decorated by area businesses, churches, groups, families and individuals from Athens, Ardmore, Elkmont, Madison, and Huntsville.  Some will be returning sponsors and decorators that have entranced visitors with their displays before.  Newcomers to the event will be in the mix as well including to family trees celebrating loved ones with special trees.
