Funeral service for Melvin Bolan, age 79, of Trinity, will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joshua McGuire and Mike Moats officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 6, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Mr. Bolan, who died Friday, November 3, 2017, at Huntsville Hospital, was born March 12, 1938, in Morgan County to the late Charley J. Bolan and the late Lola Cowart Bolan. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Hal, John, Charles, Bessie, and Betty, and survived by one sister, Janie Bryant.
He was loved by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Gray Bolan; together they had one son, Stoney Bolan (Rhonda), and two daughters, Karen Morgan (Mike) and Suprena Moats (Mike). He had four grandchildren, Ragan, Richard, Summer, and Cainan, and four great-grandchildren, Rylan, River, Millie, and Caroline.
Melvin was a member of Berea Baptist Church, and he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids.
Nephews will be Pallbearers.
