Douglas A. Fortinberry – Obituary

Douglas A. Fortinberry age 62 of Somerville, Alabama was a faithful servant at the church, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially fishing with his son’s and grandchildren. He was a member of Willowbrook Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Wilburn Fortinberry II and Norma Fortinberry. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Wilburn “Bebo” Fortinberry and Eric Fortinberry.

He is survived by is wife Leona Golman Fortinberry of Somerville, AL., 2 sons; Thomas Fortinberry and wife Tesha of Priceville, AL and Jarrod Fortinberry and wife Leslie of Somerville, AL., Six Grandchildren; Alissa, Brooke, Kaylee, Blake, Kaitlyn and Emily Fortinberry, one sister; Tammie Martin and husband Tony of Progress, MS., one sister-in-law; Brenda Fortinberry of Progress, MS., and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their kindness and support during our time of need. The caregivers were extremely compassionate and helpful, we were blessed to have each of them.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Center Springs Cemetery with Chaplain John Tucker officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No Visitation is planned.

Mr. Fortinberry, who was born on September 8, 1955 in McComb, MS., died on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home in Somerville.
