John Messer – Obituary

John Messer, 49, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at North Ms. Medical Center Hospice, Tupelo, MS. He was born in Tupelo, MS and was a shop foreman for Tishomingo County Electric Power Association. He was a member of Golden Central Baptist Church and loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

Services will be Friday, November 3, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Haskell Sparks and Don Rouse officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by two sons – Doug Messer and Sam Messer, both of Dennis, MS; his mother, Nell Messer, Golden, MS.; one brother – Darius Messer, Iuka, MS; one nephew– Luke Messer of Kansas and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle D. Messer.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Horn, Clifford Murphy, Mark Mayhall, Robert Deaton, Chris Garner and Edward Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Wood, Dillon Horn and co-workers at TCEPA.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 12-1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
