Dorothy Marie Allen age 87 of Athens, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Allen was born November 22, 1929 in Limestone County, AL to Jim Eaves and Virgie Lee Hames Eaves.
Services will be Friday, November 3, 2017 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Reunion Cemetery.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Allen; sister, Linda Sue Vining; granddaughter, Krystal Shannon; great-grandchildren, Terry Lee Bolton, T. J. Bolton and Michael Paul Griffin.
Survived by three daughters, Kathy Allen of Athens, Karen Killen and husband, Billy of Columbia, TN and Kristie White and husband, Randy of Lester, AL; one son, Kenny Allen and wife, Nancy of Athens; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce Schrimsher, Betty Brackeen, Patricia Evans and Sandra Swartz; three brothers, Bill Eaves, Dave Eaves and Bob Eaves; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ. She loves word books, puzzles, games, traveling and loved to sing at church. She loved her family especially her babies.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice.
