Funeral services for Mr. Leon Volner, age 82, are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, October 29, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington with Bro. Mike Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Scotts Hill Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Volner passed away Friday in Lexington. He was born July 6, 1935 in Scotts Hill to the late Robert L. and Willie Weatherford Volner. He was retired from R. L. Volner and Sons sawmill, was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, and enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with his friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Volner and three brothers, Earl, Herbert, and Howell Volner. Survivors include his son, Jeff Volner (Lora); one sister, Princella Buck; four grandchildren, Nick Volner (Julie), Joey Volner (Stacey), Kara Davidson (Michael), and Ty Volner; four great grandchildren, Kaden, Anslee, and MeKenzi Volner and Asher Davidson. In 2004 he married Mary Lou Yates and added to his family her children, David Yates (Debbie), Diane Trent (Steve) and Karen Caldwell (Joe); six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
