Mary Sue Hudson, 79 of the Hulaco area, died Wednesday October 25, 2017 at Marshall Medical Center North. She was born September 5, 1938 in Douglasville Georgia to L.E. Grantham and Dessie Pritchard Grantham. Mrs. Hudson was employed by Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel as a secretary. She and William Allen “Billy” Hudson were married for 58 years. She enjoyed traveling, going out to eat and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to cook and did often for her family. Mrs. Hudson will be dearly missed by her family, friends and co-workers.
She was a member of Ryan Baptist Church and served as the Church Treasurer.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by her husband: William A. “Billy” Hudson; her sons and daughters-in-law: Greg Hudson and Cara Painter, Terry Hudson and Jana and Mike Hudson and Manilia; her grandchildren: Andrew Hudson and Ashley, Hannah Hudson, Matthew Hudson, Wil Hudson, Jordan Hudson and Allison Rainwater, Caleb Hudson, Holli Painter and Candace Painter; two great grandchildren: Connor Hudson and Haven Hudson; and a sister Nell Browning. She was preceded in death by her parents: L.E. Grantham and Dessie Pritchard Grantham and three brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Hudson, Matthew Hudson, Wil Hudson, Jordan Hudson, Caleb Hudson and Todd Tibbitts.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 28, 2017 at Ryan Baptist Church with Brothers: Eldridge Criscoe and Terry Hudson, officiating. Burial will be in Ryan Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday October 27, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. She will also lie in state at the Church from 1:00 pm – 2:00 p.m.
