R. Charles Higginbotham – Obituary

R. Charles Higginbotham passed away on Sunday, October 22 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Higginbotham, a Birmingham native, attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and graduated from Athens State University with a degree in business management. He worked in the insurance business for several years and retired after serving as a service adviser for several local automobile companies. He also served for several years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was extremely supportive of the activities of his sons, serving as coach in their youth ball leagues, and later following their activities through Auburn, where they graduated.

Mr. Higginbotham was preceded in death by two sons, Jason Charles Higginbotham and Stephen Vance Higginbotham. He is survived by his wife, Mabry Robinson Higginbotham of Huntsville, one son, Michael John Higginbotham (Andrea) of Richmond, Virginia, one brother, Raymond Lee Higginbotham (Lynn) of Atlanta, Georgia and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, at Hampton Cove Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 27, at 1:00 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, with burial following the service in Elmwood.
