Olene Clouse Wright – Obituary

Olene Clouse Wright, 82, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017, at her home. She was born February 21, 1935, in Itawamba County to James Tollie Clouse and Loraine Umfress Clouse. Her youth was spent in the Carolina community. She was a faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ and showed His love through her kind and thoughtful ways.

She was a charter member of Zion Baptist Church in Fulton serving in many areas including church clerk and Sunday school teacher for many years. She wrote and sang songs expressing her love for God and all things heavenly, and enjoyed playing the lap harp.

For over 50 years, family and friends have gathered at her table and shared delicious meals together. Memories of Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations filled with love and laughter will be forever cherished.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Franky Smith and Bro. Terry Paul Graham officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Donna Guth (David) of Tremont and Lisa Brown (Jim) of Amory; her devoted and loving sister, Yvonne Huling of Fulton; grandchildren Amanda Minichino (Adam) of Columbus, Charlotte Leathers (Brandon) of Tremont, Anna Dunn (Mike) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Joey Brown (Rachel) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Lee Brown (Sierra) and Hunter Brown, both of Fulton; great-grandchildren, Madi Guth, Abbie and Azie Kate Leathers, Austin Minichino, Bryan Lee, Bullet Brown, Melany and Anthony Spencer, and Holly and Kyle Dunn; niece Debbie Smith (Larry); nephews, Michael and Keith Huling; and Bailey Young, her caregiver and granddaughter of her life-long friend, Nava Jo.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 61 years, Richard W. “Dick” Wright; her parents; sister Mildred Robinson; and her life-long friend Nava Jo Bailey Young.

Pallbearers will be Joey Brown, Lee Brown, Hunter Brown, Brandon Leathers, Adam Minichino, Mike Dunn, Larry Smith, Britt Young, Michael Huling, and Keith Huling.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
