Vivian M. Parrish – Obituary

Vivian M. Parrish, age 84, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. James Adams, Bro James Edwards, and Bro. Ronnie Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on May 28, 1933 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, Vivian was the daughter of the late David Vermeesch and the late Rose Corn Vermeesch. She enjoyed attending Colonial Meadows Church for Christ where she was a member. Vivian worked her entire life as a homemaker and was excellent at it. She babysat many kids over the years who all called her Grandma. She loved carnivals, and in her younger years enjoyed ice skating. Vivian also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sitting on the front porch watching her grandchildren play.

 

She is survived by her children: Larry (Cheryl) Parrish of Culleoka, Jimmy Parrish of Columbia, Ronnie (Patricia) Parrish of Columbia, Rose Steagall of Culleoka, Sally (Kenneth) Crain of Columbia, Norma Peden of Columbia; siblings: Willie Vermeesch of Palms, MI, Rose Atchison of Gold Hill, OR; grandchildren: Diane (Jeff) Henson, Marty Parrish, Shannon (Mark) Campbell, Dustin (Deddie) Craig, Kasey (Jason) Cox, Cheyenne (Tricia) Craig, Blair Parrish, Maegan (Coty) Carroll, Brooke (Michael Hodge) Peden; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend: Helen Sanders.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Martin D. Parrish; daughter: Linda Parrish Craig; grandson: Trinity Steagall; and brother: Calvin “Corky” Vermeesch.

 

Pallbearers will be: Cheyenne Craig, Dustin Craig, Marty Parrish, Christian Jimenez, Nicholas Craig, Michael Hodge, Jason Cox, and Norris Brown. Honorary pallbearers will include: James Ward, Coty Carroll, and Jeff Henson.
