Sandra Kay Broadway – Obituary

Sandra Kay Broadway, 68, went to Heaven surrounded by family on Oct. 14, 2017. Her celebration of life will be at Leighton Baptist Church today; receiving friends at 4 p.m., and the service will begin at 5 p.m. Tom Wimberly, Ron McCormack, and Mark Mayfield will be officiating.

Sandra was born and lived in Leighton, Alabama. There she raised her children and built a life for her family. She was a true native of Leighton for 68 years. Sandra retired from Mary’s Bridal after 27 years of service. She was very passionate about her family and learning about her ancestry. She loved gardening, raising her Dachshunds, and meeting new friends. Sandra was known for her contagious smile and generous heart.

Her parents, Sherman Taft McCormack, and Fronia Mae McCormack, preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Malvin Alex Broadway Sr.; daughter, Tracy Mitchell (Tim); son, Malvin Alex Broadway “Butch” (Crissy); daughter, Jennifer Aday (Anthony); sisters, Ann Minor (Buck) and Peggy Mitchell (Fred); Tom McCormack (Dean); and eight grandchildren, Hallie Mitchell, Alex Broadway, Landon Broadway, Lacie Broadway, Anna Grace Owens, Jon Owens, Lane Aday, and Brady Aday. Special thanks to Kindred Hospice, Northwest Alabama Cancer Center, and her special cousins Lydia Ford Morris and Linda Craft.
