Sarah Larue Cobb age 88 of Athens, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Cobb was born January 3, 1929 in Lauderdale County, AL to William Ossie Turpen and Effie Mae Freeman Turpen.
Services will be Wednesday, October 18, 2017 1:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Jeff May officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey O. Cobb; three sisters and three brothers.
Survived by three sons, Ronnie Cobb and wife, Anne of Killen, AL; Richard Cobb and wife, Dara of Decatur, AL and Roger Cobb and wife, Jane of Athens, AL; one daughter, Dee Whitehead and husband, Jerry of Pinson, AL; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Himmelright and husband, George of Athens, AL one brother, Bobby Turpen and wife, Betty of Athens, AL.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cobb, Sammy Thorne, Zach Wells, Thomas Pepper, Landon Shotts and Ethan Shotts. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Sherman, Anthony Cobb, Ethan Thorne, Cullen Carr and Eden Adams.
